Treat your Heritage piece with care and it will provide you with a lifetime of practical use, comfort and good juju.
But what do we mean by “care”?.
How to Care for Your Reclaimed Wood Pieces
Heritage pieces should be treated with care. Though your piece will gain character due to natural weathering over the years, we'd like it to age like a fine wine infused with your family's story. Below are some suggestions to help keep your Heritage piece beautiful for generations.

Our Finishes
Our finishes are durable and intended to match the use. If at some point in the future, your piece needs refreshing, please contact our office and we will schedule a touch-up finishing service.

Warp Prevention
Wood will expand and contract with seasonal changes – we love the Midwest! Please make sure your moisture level is consistent and do not expose wood to drastic swings in moisture or temperature. Similarly, it's best to set your piece out of direct sunlight as this can cause the wood to dry and check.
Cleaning Instructions:

TABLES & FURNITURE:
Clean with warm water. When necessary, add a bit of gentle dish soap to create a soapy water and rinse. Do not leave standing water.

BEAMS & MANTELS:
Clean with a microfiber dust cloth or vacuum.

FLOORS:
Clean with warm soapy water and rinse. Do not leave standing water.
Remember, here in the Midwest (we LOVE the Midwest!), wood expands and contracts with seasonal changes. We know this, we expect this, and it’s ok. You can minimize warping, splitting and cracking by doing your best to maintain a consistent moisture level and minimize any drastic temperature swings.
For example, your new kitchen table has arrived and it’s perfect. But, you’re hosting a New Year’s Eve party and need to make room in the kitchen for more people. So you move the table out onto the deck during the party. Welp, the extreme temperature and moisture change caused it to warp. Now what?
Contact Heritage if an environmental issue like this occurs. We will try to make it right if we can, on a case-by-case basis, at our discretion. But do your best to avoid activities and environments known to cause damage.
